Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference Returns In Its All-Online Format

It’s time for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, with the keynote kicking off on June 6th at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT. Unlike the last two years when the event was fully virtual, Nilay Patel and David Pierce will be on-site for a viewing party, and perhaps more.

WWDC is where the company spills all the beans on its latest OS updates and we get to guess the next California landmark to be named for the expected release of macOS 13. There are a whole lot of OSes coming out of Cupertino over the last seven years, like watchOS, tvOS, iPadOS, and now we might see evidence of the rumored RealityOS that will power a long-rumored AR / VR headset from Apple.

Yes, we’ll also get to see the latest developments on new iOS features, but, let’s be real — we are here to find out if Apple is ready to tell us what comes after the M1 processor. Will we get an M2 that is slightly iterative, or will we get a processor that breaks away from all the Pros, Maxes, and Ultras and starts a new line for a new MacBook Air? Will we finally get a glimpse of the Apple Car? Well, probably not. But whatever comes out of WWDC, rest assured, The Verge will bring the news to you.

CALIFORNIA Apple today announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held online from June 6 to 10 and that all developers are welcome to participate. WWDC22 will feature the newest advancements in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS, while offering developers access to Apple experts and technologies to learn how to create revolutionary apps and interactive experiences, building on the success of the last two years of virtual events.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing, remarked, “At its heart, WWDC has always been a venue to make connection and build community.” “In that spirit, WWDC22 brings together developers from all over the world to discuss how to bring their best ideas to reality.” and continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible. We like meeting with our developers, and we hope that everyone who attends feels energized as a result of their participation.”

Apple goods are now more than ever a part of people’s daily lives, assisting them in learning, creating, and connecting. Apple’s growing worldwide community of over 30 million developers will gain insight and access to the technologies and tools they need to make their ambitions a reality at WWDC22. This year’s schedule will include more information sessions, cutting-edge learning laboratories, digital lounges to engage with guests, and localized material to make WWDC22 a truly global event, in addition to the news delivered during the keynote and State of the Union presentations.

Apple will organize a special day for developers and students at Apple Park on June 6 to see the keynote and State of the Union videos, in addition to the online conference. With the help of the internet community, the Union has put together a collection of videos. There will be a limited number of spots available, and information on how to apply will be available soon on the Apple Developer site and app.

Apple’s Swift Student Challenge will help kids who enjoy coding for the third year. Swift Playgrounds is a game-changing iPad and Mac app that makes learning the Swift programming language interactive and enjoyable. Students from across the world are asked to construct a Swift Playgrounds app project on a theme of their choice for this year’s competition, and they have until April 25 to submit their work. Visit the Swift Student Challenge website for additional information.

Through its annual WWDC student program, Apple is happy to encourage and nurture the next generation of creators. Thousands of students have refined their abilities and interacted with other coders of various ages over the last three decades. They’ve gone on to raise children long and successful careers in technology, found venture-backed startups, and create nonprofits focused on using technology to build a better future
